The captain of the MT Honour 25, held hostage by Somali pirates, has issued an urgent appeal for immediate assistance as the vessel faces a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian and medical crisis at sea.

According to a video message of captain, several crew members are currently in serious medical condition, suffering from diabetes-related complications and infections. Their health is reportedly worsening due to limited access to proper medical care and essential treatment.

The crew is said to be surviving on minimal provisions, consisting mainly of plain white rice and contaminated water, raising serious concerns about dehydration, malnutrition, and overall survival conditions onboard.

The captain further stated that the shipping company responsible for the vessel has not provided any form of assistance, including food supplies or medical support, despite repeated appeals for help.

In addition, it was reported that the individuals controlling the vessel have refused to engage with any third-party negotiators. They are reportedly insisting on direct communication only with the company listed in the ship’s official documentation.

The crew is now calling for urgent government intervention, urging authorities to pressure the company to take responsibility for its personnel and respond to the situation without further delay.

As conditions continue to worsen onboard, the captain emphasized that the crew is struggling to survive under extreme hardship, with no clear progress toward resolution.

The appeal concludes with a request for public support and prayers from the people of Indonesia, as the crew continues to endure what they describe as a life-threatening situation.
