Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed opened up about the skills possessed by middle-order batter Mohammad Rizwan and termed the latter a "better wicketkeeper" than him.

The 2017 Champions trophy winner skipper recently appeared on a special Eid show on a private news channel.

When asked about who is a good wicketkeeper between himself and Rizwan, Sarfaraz said: "I now consider Rizwan as a better and a good wicketkeeper than myself".

“Mohammad Rizwan has become more mature with time. The way he has been playing, everything about him has improved,” the 36-year-old batter added.

“So, I think, currently he is the better wicketkeeper batter.”

Talking about the future wicketkeeper of the national cricket team, Sarfaraz said Pakistan has many excellent wicketkeepers including Azam Khan and Nawaz.

He advised all the young players to work hard and leave the result to their fate.

"I have not given up yet and will continue to play cricket InShaa Allah [God willing]," Sarfaraz concluded.
