The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has extended the deadline for submitting bids for two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises by one week, citing increased interest from international investors.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the extension, saying the revised deadline for bid submissions is now December 22. He said the extension was granted in response to "growing interest" from potential buyers based in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and other regions.
"Witnessing growing interest from the Europe, USA, the Middle East and beyond in acquiring new HBL PSL teams, we have decided to extend the bid submission deadline by one week to 22 December 2025," he wrote on X.
The move follows a recent PCB roadshow held at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, where the league attracted significant attention from investors. A large number of prospective bidders attended the event and showed interest in acquiring ownership of the two new PSL teams being offered.
As part of its outreach efforts, the cricket board is continuing to engage with overseas investors. Another promotional roadshow is scheduled to take place in New York on Saturday, where PCB officials are expected to brief interested parties on the league’s commercial structure and growth potential.
The sale process for the two new franchises is progressing ahead of the scheduled auction, which is set to take place on January 6. The PCB has said the expansion is aimed at further strengthening the PSL’s global footprint and commercial appeal.
