Pakistan to face India in Asian Games hockey semi-final

Pakistan will face India in the semi-final of the Asian Games hockey event on October 1 after both teams secured victories in their respective final group matches.

Pakistan booked their place in the last four with a 7-2 win over Oman in their final Pool B match.

Rana Waheed scored a hat-trick for Pakistan, while Sufyan Khan netted twice. Ghazanfar Ali and Mohammad Imad scored one goal each.

Pakistan won four of their five Pool B matches, with their only defeat coming against Malaysia. They scored 28 goals across the five matches and conceded eight.

In the final Pool A match, India defeated Bangladesh 10-0 to finish top of the group and qualify for the semi-finals.

The other semi-final will see Malaysia take on South Korea.
