Pakistan secure bronze in PUBG Mobile at Asian Games

Pakistan secured their fifth medal at the Asian Games on Tuesday after the national PUBG Mobile team won bronze in the esports competition at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname.

Pakistan finished third in the 12-match competition with 100 points, behind Thailand, who won gold with 128 points, and China, who claimed silver with 114 points.

The Pakistani team secured bronze after finishing third in the final match, collecting 12 points, including four placement points and eight elimination points. Japan won the match with 18 points, while Thailand finished second with 14.

The team, comprising Mohammad Huzaifa, Shayan Asad, Falak Sher, Hasnain Rehman and Syed Sameer, collected 61 points on the second day after scoring 39 on the opening day.

Pakistan’s best performances on the second day included 16 points in the seventh match, 10 each in the eighth and ninth, and 12 in both the 11th and final matches.

The bronze added to Pakistan’s medal tally, which also includes medals won by the women’s cricket team, MMA fighter Asim Khan and squash players Noor Zaman and Ashab Irfan.
