The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has expanded to eight teams following the successful auction of two new franchises — Hyderabad and Sialkot — held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.

The seventh PSL franchise was acquired by the FKS Group for Rs1.75 billion, with Hyderabad selected as the team’s home city. FKS Group owner Fawad Sarwar said the group had a strong desire to bring a PSL team to Hyderabad.

The eighth franchise was secured by OZI Developers after a competitive bidding process, with the group purchasing the team for Rs1.85 billion and choosing Sialkot as its home city.

A total of nine parties participated in the auction after Ali Tareen withdrew from the bidding process. Combined, the two new franchises were sold for Rs3.6 billion.

With the addition of Hyderabad and Sialkot, the total number of teams in the Pakistan Super League has increased from six to eight.

PSL season 11 is scheduled to be played from March 26 to May 3, 2026. The franchise auction ceremony was broadcast live on Geo Super.
