Woman stabs her two infants to death, attempts suicide in Quetta

QUETTA: A woman allegedly killed her two young children before attempting to take her own life in Hanna area of Quetta on Friday morning, police said.

The woman was identified by police as Sakina, wife of Hikmatullah, who resides in the Chashma Achuzai Gork area near PDMA Chowk.

According to police, Sakina allegedly attacked her 20-day-old daughter, Hameeda, and her one-year-old son, Naimatullah, with a knife. She then reportedly injured herself by stabbing her throat.

Police reached the location after being alerted about the incident and transported the bodies of the children and the injured woman to a hospital.

Doctors confirmed that both children had died, while Sakina was provided emergency medical treatment for her throat injuries. Following completion of the required legal procedures, the children’s bodies were handed over to their family for burial.

Police said Sakina had been married for around four years. A case has been registered, and investigators are working to establish the circumstances behind the incident and determine a possible motive.
