Earlier, a several-day-old decomposed body of a police officer's wife was found at her home in Karachi's Sachal area, police said.
According to the police, the body of the wife of the police officer was recovered from the house after rescue workers and police reached the scene. A crime scene team collected evidence from the house.
Police recorded statements from the police officer and other family members, who described the incident as a suicide. However, the police said a murder case was registered after the circumstances raised suspicion.
The case was registered on behalf of the state after the family declined to become the complainant.
