Teenager dies after falling from roof while flying kite in Lahore

A 16-year-old boy lost his life after falling from a roof while flying a kite in Lower Mall, Lahore.
Rescue authorities reported that the teenager, identified as Abdullah from Sialkot, was visiting Lahore to celebrate Basant when the accident occurred.
He was immediately taken to the hospital but could not be saved.
The authorities confirmed that following the necessary procedures, the body was moved to the mortuary. With this incident, the death toll during the Basant celebrations in Lahore has now risen to four.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced an extension to the timings of Basant celebrations in Lahore, citing the public’s responsible and disciplined participation.
In her message, the Chief Minister said that Basant was celebrated magnificently in Lahore, across Punjab and throughout Pakistan, adding that the scenes of joy, unity and festivity marked the return of a cherished tradition after 25 years.
Expressing her happiness, Maryam Nawaz announced that the Basant festivities will now continue until 5:00am tomorrow.
She described the extension as a reward for the people of Lahore, who celebrated the festival while fully adhering to safety and administrative guidelines.
