SHO arrested after assault on female vendor in Kamalia

Kamalia: Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim has taken notice of a viral video showing the SHO of Saddar Kamalia Police Station assaulting a female street vendor with a shoe.

According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Sub-Inspector Imran Ghafoor has been arrested and a case has been registered against him.

He further stated that officials who exceed their authority or mistreat citizens would not be entitled to any concession.

The Punjab Police spokesperson said that Sub-Inspector Imran Ghafoor had already been suspended over his alleged misconduct with the female street vendor, while a departmental inquiry was also underway.

According to the spokesperson, Imran Ghafoor was serving as the SHO of Saddar Kamalia Police Station.

The FIR states that the sub-inspector allegedly assaulted the female street vendor with a shoe on suspicion of theft.
