LAHORE: Two children fell ill after allegedly drinking contaminated milk in Lahore’s Nishtar Colony, resulting in the death of one child, while the other remains in critical condition.

SP Model Town Asad Ali said both children were shifted to General Hospital for medical treatment after their condition deteriorated.

According to police, two-year-old Faizan died during treatment after suffering from poisoning, while the three-year-old child remains in critical condition.

The SP said the children’s parents had purchased loose milk from a local vendor and fed it to them. Following a complaint, police detained two milk sellers, while forensic experts were called in to assist with the investigation.

Asad Ali said evidence had been collected from the scene and the authorities were awaiting the medical report to determine the cause of the incident. The Food Department has also been asked to examine the milk.
