Medical report confirms sexual assault on foreign woman in Lahore

A medical report about the alleged sexual assault of a foreign woman in Lahore has confirmed signs consistent with sexual abuse, while police have detained six more suspects in connection with the case.

According to the medical report, marks of pressure were found on the woman’s shoulder and an injury was observed on her knee. Her DNA samples were also collected for further examination.

Meanwhile, the police detained six more people during the investigation. According to the police, Shahdara police handed the detained individuals over to the Defence C police. The suspects are close friends of the main suspects and had remained in contact with them, the police said.

They said that the detainees were being questioned about the alleged gang rape and the main suspects. They were traced and detained with the help of mobile phone records and location data, police added. Efforts are under way to arrest the main suspects allegedly involved in the incident, according to police.

Separately, the victim recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure before Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Sagheer. She was brought to the court under tight security to record her statement.
