Lodhran man kills pregnant wife, 18-month-old daughter over domestic dispute

A man in Lodhran allegedly killed his pregnant wife and 18-month-old daughter after a heated argument, it emerged on Thursday.

The tragic incident of double murder took place in the Massa Kotha area, Kahror Pakka Tehsil, a village in southern Punjab.

According to the police, the suspect, identified as Irfan, had an argument with his wife, Ruqaiya, at home and the latter allegedly slapped the former on the face.

Police said that Irfan then strangled her wife to death by putting a noose around her neck and killed his minor daughter by placing a pillow over her mouth.

Kahror Pakka police transferred the bodies of the mother and daughter to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy.

The accused was arrested after the recovery of evidence from the crime scene, including the cloth used in the murder and a pillow.

As per the initial investigation, the husband and wife were relatives and had a history of heated arguments.
