Karachi is experiencing a sudden spell of cold wave, with temperatures dropping sharply since yesterday. The minimum temperature in Karachi fell as low as 6 degrees Celsius last night.

According to the PMD, the weather is expected to remain dry over the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature is likely to remain between 8 and 10 degrees celsius, while the maximum temperature may rise to 24 degrees during the day.

The Met Office reported that minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 8.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday. However, different areas experienced varying level of cold.

The lowest temperature of 6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jinnah Terminal. Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Shahrah-e-Faisal were at 9 degrees, while Mauripur recorded 10 degrees and Bin Qasim 10.5 degrees Celsius.

According to the officials, the cool north-easterly winds are blowing at a speed of 7 km per hour, adding to the cold in the city.
