Karachi on High Alert: IG Sindh boosted Security After Intelligence Reports

The Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police has put Karachi on high alert in the wake of new intelligence reports about possible security threats.

According to local reports, the IG of Sindh Police chaired a high-level meeting in Karachi to discuss the overall law and order situation and new intelligence reports.

According to officials, the meeting touched upon security concerns in the wake of recent cross-border events and discussed security arrangements for vulnerable government and private installations in the city.

According to media reports, the intelligence agencies drew attention to possible terrorist threats and risks on both internal and external routes. The IG of Sindh Police directed the concerned authorities to further enhance security at all entry and exit points of Karachi.

The IG of Sindh Police directed that the Quick Response Force (QRF) in every district should be on high alert round the clock. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Special Branch were also directed to ensure timely intelligence sharing with the district police to take immediate action.
