Jewellery shop looted in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed

Armed robbers looted gold worth millions of rupees from a jewellery shop in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place near Bata Mor in Gulshan-e-Hadeed Phase I, where three armed suspects entered the shop and carried out the robbery in the afternoon.

According to details, a man and a woman entered the shop posing as customers shortly before the robbery.mThe shopkeeper showed them jewellery as they engaged him in conversation.

Moments later, another suspect with his face partially covered arrived at the shop, got the door opened and entered, followed by two accomplices. The woman exited the shop, while the man who had accompanied her was allowed to leave without resistance, raising suspicion about his possible involvement.

The robbers then overpowered the shopkeeper, assaulting him with the butt of a pistol and leaving him injured. They grabbed boxes containing gold chains from the counter before fleeing the scene.

The police said the suspects escaped with around five-and-a-half tolas of gold. He added that police are gathering further information from the injured shopkeeper as part of the investigation.
