A road rage incident in Islamabad sparked outrage on social media after a Pakistani-born British national was filmed assaulting traffic police officers when asked to stop his car.

The incident occurred in the I-8 sector late Saturday night. The enraged man stepped out of his car and attacked traffic police, who tried to remain calm and avoided using physical force.

During the confrontation, the man shouted abuses, attempted to brandish a firearm, and pushed and beat an officer, as seen in the video. He also tried to ram the police officers with his black car.

After the video surfaced online, the Islamabad Capital Police swiftly arrested the culprit, later identified as 27-year-old Aqib Khan, a resident of Birmingham.

A photo of Aqib being handcuffed also circulated online. Reports indicate that Aqib has previous cases registered against him in Islamabad’s police stations for violent behavior.

He is also facing legal action in Birmingham, which he evaded by returning to Pakistan. Aqib reportedly lives off rental income from houses owned by his parents in Pakistan.
