Gas leakage blast turns wedding into tragedy

An unfortunate incident surfaced in Islamabad where a deadly explosion due to gas leakage claimed the lives of eight people, including the newlywed couple, in the G-7/2 Abpara area of Islamabad.
The groom Shehryar, bride Mehak, the groom’s mother, and two other close family members have been laid to rest in H-8 graveyard on Monday. Funeral prayers for the remaining deceased are scheduled to be offered later today.
According to officials, the explosion occurred at a house next to the wedding venue. The blast was so powerful that four neighboring houses were completely destroyed, leaving the residents in shock.
12 people were injured in the incident, nine of whom have been discharged after receiving medical treatment, while others remain under care.
Local residents reported that the explosion was so intense that it shook the entire neighborhood.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the chairman of CDA, stated that authorities received information about the explosion at around 7:20am on Sunday. He confirmed that the deadly blast was caused by a gas leak. Furthermore, he said that rescue efforts were carried out promptly.
