FIA deports 20 foreigners over illegal call centre activities

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has further deported another batch of 20 foreign nationals in relation to a case regarding sale of immodest content through the call centre.

The deported Chinese nationals were found to be violating Pakistan’s visa policy, according to sources. Their names have been also blacklisted, and will not be able to enter Pakistan in the future.

The total number of foreign nationals deported in connection with this case is now up to 34. 14 Vietnamese nationals were deported earlier.

As per reports, all the foreign nationals found to be in violation of Pakistan’s visa policy while staying in Pakistan.

FIA is continuing with its investigations in regard to the illegal call centre activities.

Earlier, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested 275 foreign nationals during a joint operation in Islamabad’s sector I-10, officials claimed.

The arrested foreign nationals include Chinese nationals and people from other nationalities as well, as per FIA.

The call centre management was found to be indulged in the production of immodest content, officials mentioned. “Foreign women and men were recruited for the preparation of indecent material.”

A case has been registered against them by the FIA under the Foreign Act, while the NCCIA has filed charges under the PECA Act.

All foreign nationals entered Pakistan on visit or business visa, FIA mentioned.

The decision has been taken by the officials to send 76 foreign nationals back to their countries. “Exit permits of the arrested accused have been issued under the preparation of immodest material,” sources confirmed.
