Father arrested for allegedly killing son in Karachi

A young man’s death in Karachi’s Baldia Town has been revealed as a murder after police arrested his father, who allegedly confessed to killing his son.

According to police, the incident took place in Gulshan-e-Ghazi, Baldia Town.

The victim had reportedly been missing from home for six to seven days, and family members had been searching for him. When he returned home, an argument allegedly broke out between the father and son.

Police said the father admitted during questioning that he assaulted his son for what he described as disobedience. The beating allegedly resulted in the young man’s death.

Investigators stated that after the incident, the family attempted to arrange the victim’s burial quietly without informing the authorities. However, police received information about the suspected crime and reached the house before the burial could take place. Officers took the body into custody and launched an investigation.

The suspect was arrested at the scene. Police confirmed that he is originally from Swabi and that a formal murder case has been registered against him.

During his statement to investigators, the father claimed that his son was addicted to drugs.

Police have recorded the statement as part of the investigation, but officials have not confirmed whether the claim is supported by evidence.

The victim’s body has been sent for legal and medical examination to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators are also collecting witness statements and forensic evidence to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
