Azerbaijani woman’s alleged gang rape case: 15 detained as probe continues

LAHORE: Police have identified five people, including two women, as alleged suspects in the case involving the alleged gang rape of an Azerbaijani woman in Lahore, while her medical examination has been completed.

Police said 15 individuals have so far been detained for questioning, while investigators are also interrogating suspected facilitators believed to have links with the accused.

Authorities have recovered a vehicle allegedly used in the incident. According to police, a white car was used to lure and transport the woman, while the vehicle allegedly involved in the incident is reportedly registered to suspect Tanveer.

Family members of suspects Mohsin and Tanveer have also been taken into custody. Police said the three detained individuals are relatives of the suspects.

The arrests and detentions were carried out in a private housing society falling under the jurisdiction of Sunder police station as well as in Defence.

The Crime Control Department (CCD), along with Operations and Investigation Police, is participating in the ongoing operation to locate and arrest the suspects. Raids are being conducted at multiple locations.

Police said Muskan and her alleged accomplices are among those who have not yet been arrested.

Law enforcement teams are also carrying out searches in other cities as efforts continue to apprehend the main suspects.
