In a shocking incident, a 12-year-old boy committed suicide after his mother denied giving him a mobile phone in Raiwind, police said on Thursday.

According to Lahore police, the deceased, identified as Ayyan, asked her mother to allow him to use mobile, but his mother’s refusal made him annoyed, and he took his own life.

The six-grader locked himself in the room following the verbal confrontation with his mother, who went to meet her neighbours.

Upon returning, the mother found Ayyan died as he hanged himself from the ceiling, police added.

The law enforcers have initiated a probe into the matter after collecting evidence from the spot.

Earlier on March 29, a young female doctor, a resident of Mughalpura, had taken her life after a minor feud with her mother.

According to the deceased sister, 33-year-old Bushra Suhail ended her life by hanging from a ceiling fan following heated words with her mother.
