12-year-old boy killed as trailer hits motorcycle in Karachi’s Steel Town

A 12-year-old boy was killed after a trailer hit his motorcycle near Quaid-e-Azam Park in the Steel Town area of Karachi, police said on Monday.

According to initial reports, the teenage motorcyclist was critically injured in the collision and later died. An Edhi ambulance transported his body to a nearby hospital, where he was identified as 12-year-old Umar Gul.

The deceased’s body was later shifted to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

The trailer driver reportedly fled the scene after the accident. The police reached the site, seized the 18-wheeler trailer and moved it to the police station for further investigation.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash and efforts are under way to trace and arrest the driver.
