Various areas of Karachi experienced a gentle to moderate downpour, attributed to the influence of a westerly wave.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted the continuation of thunderstorms accompanied by substantial rainfall in Karachi until April 15.

Areas such as the Airport, I.I Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Scheme 33, DHA, along with other locales throughout the city, were graced by the refreshing rains. Concurrently, similar precipitation is anticipated in Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Qambar Shahdadkot, and other cities across Sindh.

Anticipating the forthcoming weather conditions, the PMD had earlier issued forecasts indicating the likelihood of heavy rains and thunderstorms across various parts of the country during Eidul Fitr festivities.

Responding to these predictions, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took proactive measures, issuing directives on Saturday in anticipation of Karachi's impending heavy rainfall, expected under the influence of two westerly systems.

In alignment with these directives, the Chief Minister has instructed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), all town administrations, and the water board to ensure comprehensive preparations for the impending rain, urging them to swiftly mobilize resources and coordinate efforts across their respective departments to mitigate potential impacts and ensure the city's resilience in the face of inclement weather.
