Tourism boost: Murree to get Sky Walk Glass Bridge, cable car

Tourism in Murree is set to expand as the Punjab government has approved feasibility studies for major projects, including a Sky Walk Glass Bridge worth Rs 72.152 million and a Chairlift and Cable Car from Lakot to Pindi Point at a cost of Rs 90 million.
The approval was granted during a meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), chaired by Planning and Development Board Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf.
The PDWP also sanctioned a Cable Car project at River Indus, Kala Bagh, Mianwali with an allocation of Rs 81.571 million. Other schemes worth Rs 5.118 billion were also approved in the fields of roads, minority affairs, information technology, and tourism.
Among these, the construction of a road from Danda Shah Bilawal to Ghool via Lawa, District Chakwal (Rs 1.374 billion), the Chief Minister’s Minority Development Programme (Rs 1 billion), a feasibility study for a theme park in Lahore (Rs 200 million), and the Accelerate Punjab Startups Tech Programme (Rs 2.3 billion) were included.
The meeting was attended by Secretary P&D Board Rafaqat Ali, Secretary Tourism Raja Jahangir, Secretary Minorities Affairs Farid Ahmad, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and other senior officials.
