Sub-inspector who stopped SSP's son over police number plate transferred

A sub-inspector who stopped the son of a senior police official over a police number plate on his private vehicle in Defence Phase 7 has been removed from his post following an inquiry.

According to media reports, the SSP South removed Sub-Inspector Shahzan Shakeel, the in-charge of Qayyumabad police post, from his position. A notification in this regard has also been issued.

As per the notification, Shahzan Shakeel has been transferred to the Shaheen Force South.

The incident came to light after a video went viral on social media showing a heated exchange between the officer and the son of a police official during a snap-checking operation in Defence Phase 7 Extension.

Following the incident, SSP South took notice and ordered an inquiry, appointing SP Clifton as the investigation officer.

After the completion of the inquiry, departmental action was taken against the officer.
