SP Operations, two subordinates martyred in Hangu blast

Superintendent of Police (SP) Operations Asad Zubair and two other policemen were martyred while two officers sustained injuries in a powerful explosion near their police vehicle in Hangu on Friday.

According to the police, militants first detonated explosives at a police checkpoint in the Ghulmina area. The blast caused no casualties or damage.

Following the first incident, SP Operations Asad Zubair, along with his team, was heading to the site to assess the situation when their vehicle was targeted with another explosive device near Daraban.

DSP Khanzeb Mohmand said the second blast martyred SP Asad Zubair and two policemen on the spot, while two others were injured.

Police officials added that the bodies of the martyrs and the injured officers were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Hangu.

Additional police contingents have been deployed in the area, and a search operation has been launched to trace the attackers.
