Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that a new route under the Peoples Bus Service will be launched in Hyderabad after Eid ul Adha 2026 as part of the provincial government’s public transport expansion plan.
Speaking during a session of the Sindh Assembly, Memon said the new route would operate between Latifabad and Hyder Chowk to facilitate commuters in Hyderabad.
The minister said the Sindh government was working to improve transport facilities across the province, including Karachi and other urban centres. He added that additional routes in Karachi could not currently be introduced due to a shortage of buses.
According to Memon, new routes in Karachi would be launched once more buses become available.
He also directed that Peoples Bus Service vehicles should stop only at designated bus stops, saying passengers attempting to halt buses at unauthorised locations had led to disputes and incidents of damage to buses.
Memon further said development work was continuing across Sindh, including in Karachi, under the provincial government’s ongoing infrastructure initiatives.
Separately, the senior minister said the Sindh government had approved the procurement of 500 electric buses under a public-private partnership model aimed at modernising and improving the province’s transport network.
The Peoples Bus Service was launched by the Sindh government to provide affordable and improved public transport facilities for residents in major cities across the province.
