Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) outspoken leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has announced dissociation from his party over Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub Khan's biased behavior toward him.

He made the announcement while talking to the media outside Adiala jail, where he was barred from meeting incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan.

A day earlier, several media outlets reported that Imran Khan had refused to meet with the PTI lawmaker in Rawalpindi jail.

The controversy arose when Marwat was replaced by Sheikh Waqas Akram for the Chairmanship of the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Later, it came to light that PTI's political committee had voted to replace Marwat with Waqas.

Sources said the decision was taken by the party founder himself, which has triggered a tug-of-war between senior PTI figures.

Talking to the media in Rawalpindi, the PTI MNA said that he will not work with the current leadership of his party, including Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub Khan.

He also slammed his party secretary general and chief of staff for stopping him from meeting with Imran Khan.

"Shibli Faraz said that PML-N did not agree on my name [for PAC chairman]. I have no greed for positions, I took PTI when it became a dead horse. I will never create problems for Imran Khan," he said.

"I've already informed the PTI founder that I am being targeted from February 8 [election day], I do not accept disrespect, the official media team of the party is against me," Marwat claimed.

Marwat said that he contested elections at the request of Imran Khan.

In his media talk, Marwat further stated that now the responsibility to hold protests will be on Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz.

"I'll not work with the current leadership of PTI," he concluded.
