Security forces wipe out 30 terrorists behind attack on soldiers in Orakzai

Following the martyrdom of 11 Pakistani soldiers, including Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq and Major Tayyab Rahat, security forces launched a series of major operations in Orakzai , neutralising 30 terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij on Wednesday. The slain militants were involved in recent attacks targeting the Pakistani military.

An intelligence-based operation was carried out in Orakzai, during which heavy clashes erupted. Pakistani troops fought valiantly, killing 19 terrorists in intense combat. Shortly after, another operation was conducted in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan.

Major Sibtain Haider, 30, who hailed from Quetta, was leading the troops during the Daraban operation and embraced martyrdom while fighting courageously.

Meanwhile, Indian proxies and Fitna al-Khawarij elements have been found responsible for multiple terrorist incidents in Pakistan, contributing to a 46% surge in such attacks during the third half of 2025, according to a report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS).

The report noted that Pakistan faced 392 terrorist incidents during this period, resulting in 901 deaths and 599 injuries. The casualties included civilians, security personnel, and militants. Due to their proximity to border areas, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan remained the most affected regions, accounting for over 90% of the total attacks.

During the 272nd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC), the country’s military leadership reaffirmed that terror activities being carried out under any form of political cover or support will not be tolerated.
