A powerful demonstration took place at Karachi's Tariq Road area, marking the UN Solidarity Day with Palestinians.

A diverse spectrum of people joined the rally to vehemently protest against the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by Israeli occupation forces in Palestine.

The procession drew participants from various political and religious organisations, celebrities, and prominent figures from all walks of life, who released video messages and made appeals on social media to stand in solidarity with the victims of Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The rally was organised by the Palestine Solidarity Committee at a critical juncture during Israel's illegal invasion of Gaza, resulting in the tragic loss of over 15,000 lives and injuries to more than 30,000 individuals.

Palestinians have endured Israeli occupation for seven decades, with 750,000 Palestinians forcibly displaced from their homes in 1948—an event known as the 'Nakba.' The current catastrophe is even more severe than the previous Nakba, forcing 1.5 million Palestinians to leave Gaza.

On October 7, news emerged that Hamas had bulldozed the wall that imprisoned Gaza's 2.3 million population. Gaza, surrounded by Israel's apartheid wall, remains isolated from the rest of the world and faces a debilitating siege.

Following the 1948 war, Israeli forces controlled around 78 percent of historical Palestine, with the remaining 22 percent administered by Egypt and Jordan.

In 1967, Israel absorbed the entirety of historical Palestine, incorporating additional territory from Egypt and Syria.

These ongoing events underscore the urgency for global solidarity in addressing the profound injustices faced by the Palestinian people.
