An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, in a November 26 protest case.
The court directed the police to arrest her and produce her before the court tomorrow, Wednesday.
The warrants were issued during the hearing of a case related to the November 26 protest. The court also rejected Aleema Khan’s plea seeking exemption from appearance and adjourned the proceedings until Wednesday.
Following the court order, a special team of the Rawalpindi police reached Aleema's residence to carry out the warrants. The team, led by DSP Syed Azhar Shah, moved to ensure compliance with the court’s directives ,according to media reports.
The court had previously issued NBWs for the PTI founder's sister. The case will come up for hearing again tomorrow.
