Punjab announces winter vacation for public, private schools

Both public and private schools will remain closed from December 22 to January 10

The Punjab government has announced winter vacations for educational institutions in the province.

Taking to X, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that both public and private schools will remain closed from December 22 to January 10.

The decision has been taken in view of the dropping temperatures and students’ health to ensure that children stay safe from seasonal illnesses and return well-prepared for the next academic term.

Earlier, the Punjab government adjusted school timings due to rising smog levels, issuing a notification that no educational institution should open before 8:45 am.
