The Islamabad High Court has served notices to Pakistan Teheek-e-Insaf,  Secretary of the Interior, the Chief Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner, and the IG of Islamabad in a case related to PTI protests in the federal capital.

The Islamabad High Court heard a contempt of court petition regarding protests held in the capital city despite a judicial order prohibiting such demonstrations. Chief Justice Amir Farooq presided over the hearing.

The petitioner argued that despite the High Court’s order, protesters came to Islamabad and disrupted normal life.

The petition also stated that the government and administration failed to maintain peace and order in the city, and action should be taken against the parties for contempt of court.

Later, the Islamabad High Court issued notices to PTI leaders, as well as the Secretary of the Interior, Chief Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and IG Islamabad, asking them to respond by next week.

It is noteworthy that on November 21, the Islamabad High Court had ruled on a petition against PTI’s planned protest on November 24, directing the authorities to deny permission for the protest.

However, PTI went ahead with the protest, and the government failed to prevent the demonstrators from entering Islamabad.
