PPP confirms Faisal Rathore as PM nominee in Azad Kashmir

The PPP has announced that it will submit a no-confidence motion in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly and has nominated Faisal Rathore as its candidate for the new Prime Minister.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the party has the required numbers and is confident about forming the next government in Azad Kashmir.

PPP Azad Kashmir President Chaudhry Yasin said that the required number for a no-confidence motion is 27, but with the support of the PML-N, they now have 40 members.

He added that the party leadership has decided that PPP Azad Kashmir General Secretary Faisal Rathore will be their candidate for Prime Minister, and that the upcoming short-term government will not be “a bed of flowers.”

Raja Pervez Ashraf confirmed that the no-confidence motion will be submitted on Monday, saying that Faisal Rathore has the experience to run the assembly effectively.

On the other hand, the sitting Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir has decided not to resign and will strongly contest the no-confidence motion.
