Karachi: Residents living around Shahra-e- Bhutto are facing serious threats due to flawed planning during the road’s construction.

Locals complain that the drainage system of surrounding neighborhoods was blocked during the development work, causing rainwater to flow directly into residential areas.

More than 2,500 houses in Gohar Green City are under severe threat as rainwater has entered homes, with fears of damage to valuable household items.

Residents report that before the construction of Shahra-e-Bhutto, rainwater used to naturally flow into the Malir River.

“Proper drainage arrangements should have been made during the construction of the highway,” residents lamented, adding that in some areas, water has accumulated up to three feet deep inside the society.
