Pir Muhammad Shah reappointed as Karachi’s traffic chief

Pir Muhammad Shah has been reappointed as DIG Traffic Karachi, reversing a decision made earlier this year.

A notification was issued reinstating him to lead the traffic police in Karachi, with immediate effect. 

The official order also removed the additional charge previously held by Mazhar Nawaz Sheikh, who had been overseeing the city’s traffic operations following Shah’s earlier removal.

Shah was previously barred of his duties following criticism over the handling of traffic management during the aftermath of the Gul Plaza tragedy, where traffic congestion reportedly affected emergency responses amid the massive blaze.

The reinstatement of Shah suggests a renewed focus on stabilizing leadership within the traffic police at a critical time for traffic flow and public safety.
