Another air hostess of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Monday went missing in Canada after the national carrier's flight landed in Toronto from Islamabad.

The cabin crew identified as Maryam Raza was deputed at PIA flight PK 782. She disappeared in Toronto after the flight landed at the airport. Maryam was scheduled to perform her duties on PIA’s 784 flight from Toronto to Karachi.

The airline came to know about the incident when the air hostess did not report on duty. Following searching out her room the staff found her dress with a note “Shukriya PIA” (Thank you, PIA).

The sources said that the authorities initiated a probe into the matter.

This was the third reported case of PIA flight attendants allegedly 'slipping' while on duty, with two of them were women.

Despite measures such as collecting passports of flight attendants, the effectiveness of these policies has come under scrutiny.

As per the sources, the low pay and lack of job security in the national airlines trigger such incidents.

Last year, the national airline reported the same incident on flight PK-798 when a male aircraft crew, identified as Ramzan Gul, went missing in Toronto.
