All educational institutions in Peshawar will open on Tuesday, according to a statement issued by the deputy commissioner (DC).
In a post on Facebook, the district administration asked people to ignore any fake notifications or rumours suggesting otherwise.
Schools and other educational institutions in the provincial capital remained shut on Monday as roads were blocked following the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police were deployed at various locations across Peshawar on Monday, with a larger presence in areas approaching the start of the cantonment limits.
Meanwhile, TransPeshawar, the operator of the city’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, announced that services would resume on Tuesday, October 13. According to a notice issued by the company, buses would operate on all routes as per their regular schedule.
The district administration has also enforced Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in Peshawar, prohibiting public gatherings for seven days.
The order also prohibits the public display of weapons and the carrying of items that could be used for violence, including spikes, ball bearings, loaded batons and petrol bombs.
In Dera Ismail Khan, all government and private educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities, will remain closed on Tuesday, October 13, under an order issued by the deputy commissioner.
A notification from the district administration said examinations and papers scheduled for Tuesday had also been cancelled.
