Passport, CNIC and arms licence services to be available under one roof in Karachi

The government plans to establish a one-stop public facilitation centre in Karachi where citizens will be able to access passport, CNIC and other services at one location.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the plan on Tuesday during a visit to the ministry’s office on I.I. Chundrigar Road. He said the proposed facility would bring counters of departments and organisations working under the Interior Ministry together at one centre.

Citizens will be able to apply for or access services related to passports, CNICs, arms licences and various no-objection certificates (NOCs), according to the ministry. Naqvi directed officials to prepare and submit a master plan for the centre within 10 days.

He said the plan should cover all requirements needed for the facility and ensure that citizens could receive multiple services at the same place.

The minister also visited Karachi Port, where 21 vehicles for Islamabad Rescue 1122 and the fire brigade had arrived from China.

The Interior Ministry said the vehicles had been received after a gap of 17 years. Naqvi inspected the vehicles during his visit.
