There is encouraging news for the public, as three consecutive holidays are anticipated at the beginning of September in Pakistan.
According to the Meteorological Department and the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal is likely to be sighted on August 24.
If the prediction proves correct, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal will be observed nationwide on Friday, September 5, with a public holiday announced to mark the occasion.
This will be followed by Defence Day on Saturday, September 6, when the nation pays tribute to its martyrs and ghazis, and the routine Sunday holiday on September 7, creating a rare stretch of three consecutive days off.
Sociologists note that such extended breaks provide citizens with opportunities to strengthen social and family bonds and enjoy much-needed peace of mind.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistanis have enjoyed several long holiday breaks this year, celebrated with enthusiasm across the country.
