Pakistan joins multinational Special Forces drill in Uzbekistan

Pakistan’s special forces have participated in the multinational military exercise Eternal Brotherhood-5, held in Uzbekistan from September 13 to 25, 2026.

According to report, the exercise brought together special forces from Pakistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, while Kazakhstan participated as an observer. 

The joint drills aimed to strengthen cooperation, coordination and professional capabilities among participating forces. 

During the exercise, troops exchanged experiences in modern military operations, combat tactics and responding to security challenges. The activities provided an opportunity to enhance operational coordination and develop professional expertise through multinational training. 

The exercise comes amid Pakistan’s ongoing military engagement with foreign armed forces through bilateral training programmes focused on counterterrorism and operational preparedness.

Moreover, on September 22, the Pakistan Army commenced two joint exercises with Russian and Omani forces. The ninth edition of Pakistan-Russia Exercise Druzhba-IX began at Cherat, while the second edition of Pakistan-Oman Exercise Washaq Al Jabal-II, also known as Mountain Lynx-II, started at the National Counter Terrorism Centre in Pabbi. 

The two-week exercises bring together contingents from the Pakistan Army, Russian Army and Royal Army of Oman to exchange operational experience, refine counterterrorism drills and improve interoperability.
