Over 100,000 students to receive free laptops under PM scheme

The government will begin distributing laptops to students across the country under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme from October 30, according to official sources.

A total of 100,000 meritorious students from universities and colleges nationwide will receive free laptops as part of the initiative aimed at promoting digital literacy and supporting higher education.

The main distribution ceremony will be held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to inaugurate the event. Following the central ceremony, similar events will be organized in provincial capitals to ensure distribution across all regions.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has already released the merit list of selected students who qualified for the scheme based on academic performance.
