Online bike rider held for transporting Islamabad suicide bomber to blast site

A major breakthrough has been made in the investigation into the suicide bombing near the Islamabad Judicial Complex, which left 12 people dead and several others injured on Tuesday.
According to media reports, investigators have traced how the suicide bomber managed to reach the Judicial Complex. The police have reportedly detained the motorcycle rider who brought the attacker to the site.
The reports said that the arrested rider, who works for an online ride-hailing service, transported the bomber to the courthouse area for Rs200. Investigators are now working to determine how the attacker arrived in the Golra area prior to the blast, using footage from the Safe City surveillance cameras to track his movements.

Earlier, a preliminary report by intelligence agencies revealed that the bomber had arrived in Islamabad on Friday. It stated that he traveled from Pirwadhai to the G-11 courts on a motorcycle before carrying out the attack.
The suicide blast occurred near the G-11 courthouse in Islamabad around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The explosion was powerful enough to be heard across the city.
Police said the attacker, riding a motorcycle, detonated himself near a police vehicle. The blast set nearby vehicles on fire, while the bomber’s body parts were found scattered inside the court premises.
Authorities continue to investigate possible links between the attacker and militant networks, while efforts are underway to identify the bomber through forensic and CCTV evidence.
