The Balochistan government has ordered a 24-hour suspension of mobile internet services in Quetta amid growing security concerns.

According to an official communication sent to the Ministry of Interior on October 30, the provincial authorities requested the temporary shutdown of 3G and 4G data services across Quetta, beginning at midnight on October 30.

The letter stated that the decision was made in view of the prevailing law and order situation and perceived security threats in the area.

The move comes as Balochistan continues to experience an uptick in militant activity, with insurgent groups intensifying their attacks in recent months.

This is not the first time internet services have been disrupted in the province. In August, mobile data services were suspended for security reasons and remained offline for over two weeks.

Connectivity was restored on August 21 following a directive from the Balochistan High Court ordering the immediate resumption of services
