A judicial commission investigating the killing of young businessman Mir Raza Ali Khan in Karachi has completed its inquiry report, which will be handed over to the Sindh government on Thursday.
Citing sources, media reports said that the judicial commission has summoned the home secretary to appear at 10am on Thursday to receive the report.
The commission concluded its proceedings on October 7 after holding a total of 15 sessions, including a visit to the crime scene. It was constituted through a notification issued on August 24 and began its work on August 27.
The Sindh Home Department has directed the commission to complete the inquiry within a month.
Mir Raza Ali Khan went missing on July 28 after leaving his home in the Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society (PECHS) in an online taxi at 4:09am. His body was recovered from Gulistan-i-Jauhar two days later.
According to police officials, the body was found in a severely deteriorated condition, with a gunshot wound to the chest. His social media accounts had reportedly been deactivated a day before the body was found.
The killing had raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding the young businessman's disappearance and death.
Mir Raza's father said that his son was due to marry on August 30 at Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Gulshan-i-Iqbal and had been very happy about beginning a new chapter in his life.
