The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday allowed the investigation team probing the Mir Raza case to access his bank account and examine his transaction details.
During the hearing, the state prosecutor said that the wanted to examine the account and transactions as part of the probe.
The prosecutor said the case had become a high-profile matter and that a judicial commission had also been investigating it for the past month. He added that the team wanted to conduct a comprehensive probe and determine where and to whom money had been transferred.
The investigating authorities told the court that bank officials had directed them to approach the State Bank of Pakistan for access to the account.
The government lawyer said the State Bank had informed them that access for investigative purposes could not be granted without a court order. He requested permission to obtain Mir Raza’s bank account and transaction details, saying the information could assist the investigation.
The high court approved the request and allowed the investigators to access the account, disposing of the application.
Separately, the Judicial Magistrate East granted investigators another 14 days to submit the final charge sheet in the Mir Raza case. During the hearing, the investigation officer again sought more time to submit the final charge sheet. The court granted the request.
The investigators have already submitted an interim charge sheet, in which no person was nominated as an accused.
