A video of the clash between Pakistani Army’s Major Adnan and a militant from the India-backed Fitna-al-Khwarij group during the deadly Bannu attack surfaced online, with social media users praising the soldiers’ unmatched courage.

The video, reportedly filmed during the clearance operation at the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Lines, showed Major Adnan providing cover to a fellow soldier, believed to be Major Saad, who lay injured on the ground.

As the terrorist advanced while firing, other soldiers took position behind a jeep to launch a counterattack.

A deadly suicide attack on the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Lines in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district triggered a fierce 10-hour-long security operation, leaving six militants and six security personnel dead, police confirmed on Sunday.

According to police, the attack began when militants rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the FC Lines compound and attempted to storm the facility. Security forces swiftly responded, engaging the assailants in an intense gun battle. Six attackers were eventually killed during the operation.

Bannu police officials stated that 16 security personnel were also injured in the assault and were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army’s media wing, confirmed that all five “India-backed militants” involved in the attack had been neutralised. However, it added that six soldiers from the Frontier Constabulary and Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom during the heavy exchange of fire.

In the exchange of gunfire, both Major Adnan and his comrade sustained critical injuries. The militant was eventually neutralised after being caught in heavy fire from soldiers behind the jeep.

A heartbreaking clip later surfaced online showing Major Adnan in hospital, asking about the condition of his fellow officer despite being gravely wounded himself.

The display of selflessness moved many Pakistanis, with tributes pouring in across social media.
