KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced the removal of check posts across the province.

The decision was taken to revitalise traditional systems, as Gandapur also plans to reinstate the jirga system, a centuries-old method of dispute resolution.

“We are eliminating check posts across the province and restoring the jirga system to strengthen local governance,” he noted.

The KP chief also addressed a recent controversy surrounding the Afghan Consul General's conduct during Pakistan's national anthem.

“The Consul General clarified that his act was due to the inclusion of music, which is also muted in their own national anthem,” Gandapur said.

In another major development, Gandapur declared the dismissal of 1,800 employees recruited through the government's party quota system.

He said, "I am ready to face their protests, but I refuse to pay salaries to these unlawfully appointed individuals.”

Ali Amin Gandapur also introduced measures to empower citizens: "Today, we are enabling the public to raise their issues on the portal. We will transparently reveal to the media who has been disciplined and the actions taken regarding these complaints."
