The temperature in Karachi soared to 42 degrees Celsius, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said, as the city continued to experience intense heatwave-like conditions.
According to the Met Office, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry, with no chances of rainfall in the near future. Authorities warned that the heat intensity is likely to persist into Monday, further exacerbating discomfort for residents.
However, the PMD noted that some relief may be felt during the evening hours, as sea breezes are expected to resume. The temporary restoration of coastal winds could slightly ease temperatures, particularly in parts of the city closer to the shoreline.
Despite this, daytime conditions are forecast to remain severe, with temperatures staying well above normal levels. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures, including avoiding unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, staying hydrated, and limiting outdoor activities during peak hours.
